Founded in 1925, Myers Park United Methodist Church stands at the corner of Queens and Providence roads in the heart of Charlotte, a vibrant church devoted to serving the spiritual needs of the congregation and reaching out to the hurting around the corner and around the world. A Prayer for Our Church

Almighty God our Father,

We pray for our Church, giving You thanks
   for Your presence,
   for Your guidance,
   for Your forgiveness,
   for Your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior,
   for the Holy Spirit who inspires and comforts us,
   and for all the ways You have blessed us.
We pray that we will
   follow You faithfully,
   serve You energetically,
   and treat the Church as Yours.
We pray for our ministers, our staff and our lay leadership.
We pray for our bishop, district superintendent,
   and for our denomination and its mission.
We pray for the families of those who serve the Church.
We pray for those in our Church
   who are sick, grieving, lonely, or in despair.
We pray that all Your Church will learn more about You,
   and will glorify You by the living of their lives.
Help us to discern Your will
   so that we will be not just hearers,
   but doers of Your Word.
Lord, we ask that you send us the people nobody else wants.
Help us to respond to them in a Christ-like manner,
   with a true desire to welcome them into our community
   so that they may feel the embrace of our Church family.
We belong to You.
