We want everyone to be involved in the life of Myers Park United Methodist Church, member or guest!
 

If, however, you have thought about making a commitment to our church family, we would love for you to explore becoming a member of our congregation.

Step One: During the second Monday or Tuesday evening of each month (6:45 pm), our church hosts a one-hour Newcomer Orientation class. During this session Dr. Howell, our senior pastor, along with other church members and clergy of the Myers Park family, will welcome you to our congregation, answering your questions about our United Methodist beliefs and about our expectations of church membership. There is no obligation to join and childcare is always available.

For those wishing to become active members, we will then offer two additional classes, Steps Two and Three, primarily on the third and fourth Sunday mornings of each month (9:40am in Francis Chapel).

Step Two:  In this session we survey the major beliefs, practices, missions, and ministries of our church, concentrating on what it means to be a United Methodist today.

Step Three: Here we begin narrowing our focus on you, helping you answer the questions, "What is God calling me to do at Myers Park? Where should I begin? What can I offer? How can I get involved?" We will help you get connected to the life of our church, ensuring your membership here is as rewarding as it can be while pledging to walk with you every step of the way.

All those who have completed each of the three steps can then join on the first Sunday of the month during any one of our five Sunday morning worship services. Welcome!
