HOLY LAND WITH DR. HOWELL Dr. Howell will lead a trip to the Holy Land March 22 to April 1, 2009, journeying to Jerusalem, Galilee, Bethlehem and Jericho. Details and registration at www.mpumc.org.

WHAT’S IN THE COAT ROOM? While the Myers Park branch of the public library across the street undergoes renovations, the library is offering books and material in the coat room beside the entrance to Jubilee Hall. The library will staff the room weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon. The public can borrow material during that time.
WANT DR. HOWELL’S E-MAILS? In addition to the e-mail that goes out to the congregation Monday, Wednesday and Friday sharing church news, Dr. Howell regularly shares an essay via e-mail. His current series is on favorite Bible verses. If you aren’t receiving that offering from Dr. Howell but want to add your e-mail address to his message group, e-mail james@mpumc.org. If you have some sort of filter, remember to let these through.
WANT TO GO WIRELESS AT CHURCH? The church now offers high-speed Wi-Fi access in the lobbies of the Parish Life Building, Jubilee Hall and some parts of the Youth Building. No network key is required. Just connect and go on line.

Wired 4 Ministry OfferedThe 2½ hour Wired 4 Ministry class provides tools to understand where God may be calling you to serve others. Classes are typically held on the second Tuesday from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. and fourth Monday from 9:30 a.m. to noon each month. Classes can also be scheduled at other times for any group of 4 or more. ORDER OF ST. LUKE AT CHURCH Some 30 participants from across the country will be at the church Monday through Wednesday (May 19-21) for the Council of The Order of Saint Luke. ADULTS PLUS! DISCIPLE CELEBRATION SERVICE A worship service with Communion will mark the closing celebration for Disciple Bible Study at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in the Sanctuary with Dr. Howell and Rev. Barbara Barden. A reception with appetizers follows in Jubilee Hall. The gathering honors this year’s Disciple Bible Study class of 150. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS Supplies for soldiers are being collected in the lobby of the Parish Life Building through June 1: Body wash, shampoo, hand sanitizer, deodorant, lotion, razors, shaving cream, sunscreen, nail clippers, Band-Aids, unscented wipes, playing cards, flashlights, candy (nothing that can melt), crosswords or other puzzle books and AT&T calling cards. Letters to “Any Soldier” are welcome, too, and will be distributed randomly.

‘LIFE WORTHY’ STARTS JUNE 16 A study, A Life Worthy of the Gospel, will be from 10:15 a.m. to noon Mondays from June 16 to July 28 in Room 103 of the Parish Life Building.
