Through these activities, very young children encounter the Bible story and begin their faith journey as disciples of Jesus Christ. Because people learn in a variety of ways, opportunities are provided for visual, musical, artistic, linguistic, kinesthetic, individual, and group experiences with the Bible story. Children take home a Bible Story Picture Card each week to share with their parents.

The theme for Sunday school is "Praise and Proclaim" which offers children time to learn about worship as they experience worship. They meet our worship leaders, explore the sanctuary, become familiar with the creeds, hymns, and prayers of worship through games, songs, and Bible stories. Each kindergartner receives a red "Worshiper in Training" tote bag to fill with things to do during worship.

They learn about the Bible and Bible times by exploring the stories and using tools such as an atlas, a concordance, and a Bible dictionary. They begin to understand more fully the relationship between the Bible message and their own relationship with God. They spend more time in service to others.

This is a year when children begin to question a lot of what they have heard and have been taught. That's a good thing! "Tweens in Transition" is designed to help put understanding of the Bible together and make it relevant to their lives.
As "seniors" in Chidlren's Ministries fifth graders are involved in service to others. They coordinate the elementary Christmas stocking event, and are the lead characters in "Kneeling at the Manger" worship service in December.
