Trinity's Table - Amy Chiott, Coordinator
Trinity's Table, formerly known as a "soup kitchen" but changed to "community fellowship lunch", serves free lunch to 60-80 individuals in South Tryon Community Church on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 am -12:30 pm. A time for sharing and discussing one's recovery is also available for the guests. Currently, volunteers are needed to:
· Set up dining room and serving area, serve, eat and fellowship, and clean up
· We also need a volunteer coordinator and church liaison and an individual to work with local stores to receive day-old items and deliver them to the community kitchen
CHAMPIONS for Children
MPUMC adults and/or families form a mentoring relationship with a child from the South Tryon Community for one year.
· Adults and families are needed to partner with the South Tryon children.
· The commitment is one of time, not financial resources. We ask that the partners visit with their children at least once a month and contact them weekly. The relationship helps develop both partners' understanding of our community.
