World Outreach

                       

Myers Park United Methodist Church is committed to serving God wherever the Holy Spirit leads us. That commitment has led us to develop numerous partnerships on five continents where we have encountered countless instances of grace, reconciliation, and hope. 

Our ministry in the world is wide ranging. We send medical mission teams to remote areas of the world where there is no access to health care, help rehabilitate former child combatants in West Africa, build orphanages in Costa Rica, and support a host of  missionaries.  We strive to honor God by serving as the hands and feet of Christ.      
                            
Our church's World Outreach Committee leads our congregation's efforts to foster relationships with our overseas brothers and sisters based on a mission model that seeks to lovingly empower individuals rather than create for them systems of dependency. We strive to help our partners develop sustainable plans for their ministry even as they call us to accountability for our own resources. We seek relationships built on trust, mutuality, and solidarity.
