Charlotte is a city of great opportunity. But even in the midst of such promise there is still room for individuals and families to fall through the cracks. Beneath the glimmer of the banks and businesses lies a growing affordable housing crisis, rising homeless population, increasing rate of juvinile deliquency, and many other tragic instances of the brokenness that exists in our society.
In the spirit of Micah 6:8 we believe that God has called us to lives of mercy, justice, and humility. One of the ways in which our congregation tries to live out this command is through loving service done in the name of Jesus Christ. You will find our members preparing lunch at the Urban Ministry Center, mentoring children in the South Tryon neighborhoods, hammering on Habitat homes, and providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support for fragile families in our community. In each of these instances we see God's love transforming not only the lives of the people we serve, but our lives as well. We seek to be agents of God's reconciliation, hope, and love in our city.
